Sales Without the Corporate Grind: Yes, It’s Possible

How I Transitioned to Fractional Sales—and How You Can Too

The Corporate Illusion of Security

For years, I believed the corporate promise: work hard, climb the ladder, stay loyal, and you’ll be rewarded.

But the truth? Many of us are just one restructuring away from being expendable.

I knew that intellectually, but I never thought it would happen to me.

The Unexpected Opportunity

Getting laid off was a gut punch. A moment where I had to decide—was I going to chase another corporate job and start over, or was this my chance to do something different?

One unexpected gift of that layoff? It gave me the time and opportunity to help support and grow our family business. For years, I had watched my husband build his contracting business on his own. Now, I finally had the chance to use my sales and leadership skills to contribute in a meaningful way and help his business grow.

Creating a Fractional Sales Career

Instead of jumping back into the corporate grind, I decided to make a real go of self-employment. My goal? Leverage my sales expertise for a few high-value clients while growing our family business at the same time.

No more rigid schedules. No more waiting for a company to decide my fate. No more fear of another layoff.

Now, I wake up every day with a purpose—working with clients I choose, supporting a business we own, and building financial independence on my terms.

If You’re Considering a New Path…

If you’re a career salesperson and wondering if there’s another way, I can tell you firsthand—there is.

I’m working on a step-by-step guide to help others set themselves up for success in self-employment, land lucrative contracts, and create something sustainable outside of corporate life.
